Point Wells—“A New Vision For Living”
The proposed urban center at Point Wells in Snohomish County represents a “new vision for living”—incorporating sustainable living features, inter-modal transit options and new public access opportunities to one of the finest stretches of beach on Puget Sound.
Working with developer BSRE Point Wells, LP and a talented local project team, we have developed targeted media relations and public outreach programs to support the early development stages for this major mixed-use project—to be developed in stages over the next 15-20 years.
BSRE Point Wells is proposing to transform the 61-acre site (currently a petroleum storage and processing industrial site) into a new mixed-use community encompassing residential units, commercial and retail spaces, site clean-up, habitat restoration, transit components and “public spaces.”
Our efforts have included:
• Planning and execution of neighborhood “open houses” and neighborhood meetings to share preliminary design concepts and seek community input.
• Working with key area media and local bloggers, including interview coordination and tours of the Point Wells site.
• Development and production of key communications support tools, including the Point Wells website, www.pointwells.com, and project video.
BSRE Point Wells is affiliated with Tel Aviv-based Blue Square Real Estate Ltd., a major developer of real estate. It is a holding of the Alon Group, a company operating in the real estate, energy and retail sectors.
Other relevant real estate experience: Port Ludlow (Pope Resources), General Growth Properties (Alderwood Mall and Clackamas Town Center), Master Builders of King & Snohomish Counties, Port Blakely Communities, Trendwest, Connor Development, Costa Pacific Homes.
Bartell Drugs
Over a 15-year period, we have developed public relations programs and initiatives for Seattle-based, family-owned Bartell Drugs—the oldest drugstore chain in the United States.
In representing the 59-store chain, our services have included ongoing media relations, building relationships with neighborhood bloggers, feature story placements, guest columns, grand-opening support, crisis management, media training and other activities.
The public relations positioning has supported the company’s ability to steadily grow and expand its market share while facing heavy competition from large national drug and grocery chains.
Other relevant retail/service experience: Alderwood Mall, Clackamas Town Center, Seattle BMW, Brown Bear Car Wash, Massage Envy, Tom Denchel’s Ford Country.
Northwest Flower & Garden Show

The largest event of its kind west of the Mississippi, the Northwest Flower & Garden Show in Seattle is produced by O’Loughlin Trade Shows (OTS). When OTS acquired the show from its founder Duane Kelly in 2009, we immediately embarked on a media relations effort to support the transition and begin the publicity build-up for the 2010 show.
Working with local, regional and national media, we actively support the client’s goal of building on the traditions of the past while introducing new show features and attractions to the public.
OTS is a client we have proudly represented for 30 years. We continue to provide publicity support for other consumer shows produced by this family-owned company in the Northwest, including major home and garden shows in Tacoma and the Washington Sportsmen’s Show in Puyallup.
Other relevant special event experience: Seattle Golf Show, Tacoma Dome Boat Show, Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Disney on Ice, Seattle Street of Dreams, Seattle Boats Afloat Show, King County Fair.
IsoRay Medical
Over 210,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year and a growing number of patients have been treated using radioactive isotope “seeds” planted in and around the cancerous tissues—called “brachytherapy.”
In 2004, Richland, WA-based IsoRay Medical, Inc. introduced a new propriety seed, Proxcelan (Cesium-131). In cooperation with the University of Washington Medical Center, we managed the media relations for the first patient implant—which garnered worldwide media attention.
We continued to work with IsoRay as medical centers and clinics across the U.S. adopted the seed, providing media relations support in each market–resulting in scores of high-profile media placements over a five-year span.
Other relevant medical/health sciences experience: Core Oncology, Calypso Medical, Vioguard, Novartis, Ultreo, MinuteClinic, PerioBalance, Pharmitas.
Alderwood Mall and Clackamas Town Center
Over a span of six years we provided media relations and grand opening support for two “super regional” retail centers in the Pacific Northwest owned by General Growth Properties (GGP).
GGP’s Alderwood Mall (Lynnwood, WA) and Clackamas Town Center (Portland, OR) each underwent major expansions and remodels to position them has major retail hubs. Each property has “set the bar” in their respective markets as key “retail and lifestyle” centers with a vibrant mix of retail, restaurants and state-of-the-art theaters.
Our public relations services included extensive placement efforts with print broadcast media, community relations support, media training and counsel, and event planning. Our efforts to spotlight both properties generated over $3 million EMV (Earned Media Value) for the client.
